Evy explores the concept of Geo-graphy in order to create pieces in metal that reflect our complex shaping of the world. Just as we imprint onto the earth for anthropocentric purposes, we imprint on metal for artistic and industrial practices. Her work draws on 10 years of experience in a career of environmental advocacy and consultation in government, non-profit, and corporate settings. While taking a hiatus from her artistic practice during this period, she gained insight into environmental processes, transformation, and degradation. The goal was to shape a more sustainable practice, and the reality is that these systems we were navigating are infinitely complex.

Evy's work has evolved into showing a deeper understanding of – and connection to – the scientific and political challenges of environmental work. She explores our worlds on a micro-scale. While we are acting in consequence of large-scale systems, we still operate from personal experience and connection. Evy's pieces invite the viewer to look closely and to spend time observing small details, like how getting to know someone requires us to slow down and observe closely. Evy hopes her work will encourage people to be thoughtful about their interactions with their surroundings and the people they are surrounded by in the context of emotional drive and larger influences in our world.
